what a FUN session we had on saturday with melissa and david. we made their engagement shots for them and played around in our portrait garden/woods. many more to come of this adorable couple.

Who knew how beautiful the sunset would be at Camp Blanding last Saturday! We had a fun and happy time with Lisa and Jason celebrating their engagement, from our impromptu cupcake picnic to the romantic moments that we captured on this photo-video. last night we had the privilege to photograph jennifer camarda and michael beckstrom as they joined in holy matrimony. i absolutely adore this image of jen having a contemplative moment before the ceremony. she was truly a beautiful bride! congratulations mr. and mrs. beckstrom!
nine month old jessica was cuddled by her father's protective hand, as they gazed into the beautiful waters at sanibel island. this moment captured in time, speaks volumes and now is a treasured piece of the past, after losing her dad to cancer when she was only 10 years old.

congratulations to Larry Weber Sr., on his 80th birthday! we were blessed to capture the surprise and sheer delight experienced by this wonderful man being honored by his extensive and incredible family. a truly special couple, the Webers have passed down their stories and their hearts for countless numbers of folks to be blessed by.
michael and i photographed the dress rehearsal of godspell last week, at the orange park community theatre. i must say that out of two thousand images, my favorite was this of cecilia adkison, looking with concern, at her father, randall who portrays jesus.
thankfully, this adorable little girl knows that its just acting, and those people aren't really hurting her daddy.

it was my pleasure to make an appearance on wednesday night at dr. clayman's miracle spa premiere movie night,
celebrating the premiere of sex and the city 2.
on hand was dr. clayman and his son, dr. mark clayman, to talk about their practice and answer questions from the one hundred guests who attended. i found it very interesting and clayman's staff and family (hard to tell them apart) was as warm and generous as always. the attendees ranged from folks just curious about what beauty and anti-aging treatments are available, to folks who have long been a fan (patient) of dr. clayman. we were all touched by a heart warming testimony from debra (pictured) and amused at dr. clayman's laid back humor.

st. johns country day school enjoyed prom 2010 at timuquana country club last night in las vegas style. complete with casino games and gowns to rival red carpet walkers, the students danced all* night*long. congratulations to the prom queen, marit evans, and prom king, chris dobbertein! this school has a long tradition of decked out proms, but this one really hit the jackpot! many thanks to all the chaperones and the coordinators of the event, especially to mr. knapp and our salsa queen, mrs. judy kalil!
we love all the weddings we get to photograph, but there's always something so
fun about bare feet! jumping for joy at flagler beach is oz sanchez and his new bride, fatima. surrounded by their siblings and dear friends, they had a moment of sheer fun, in celebration of their special wedding, on friday, april 30.

thursday evening we had the pleasure of photographing the redding family, with their two adorable children. as often happens, our favorite shot of the day comes from a complete candid. as you can see in this image, big brother offers a helping hand, tying baby sister's shoe, as she hangs onto him for dear life. yes, baby, life IS dear.
congratulations contestant #21, Jade Porter (last, but certainly not least), the NEW Miss Nease High, Scholarship pageant winner! and congrats also to Taylor Higgins, Natalie Ann Gaughan, Annie Yin and Michelle Kunkel, the top five. with that said, the entire slate of ladies was very impressive, all bright, beautiful and talented, with such diverse performances as playing a tuba, a cello, and singing opera, to dancing with a rifle and a flag! (not all by the same girl, of course!) once again, this magnanimous endeavor was the result of a million hours of creativity and sweat, thanks to the dynamic duo ~Randall and Laura Adkison. Nease High and Ponte Vedra High are lucky to call these drama teachers their own.

on april 10, my great uncle sidney polster turned 98 years old. on april 14, he went to live with his sister, helen and his 8 brothers, including my grandpa joe, in heaven.
hailing from czecholslavkia in the early 1900's, this large family came over in small groups. over the years, we've been entertained by the stories of when my grandfather, uncle phil and uncle sidney came over on "the boat"; here's one of my favorites. the brothers were all excited about immigrating to america; uncle sidney trying to act cool, took a banana (a fruit they weren't very familiar with) and he peeled it down, threw the banana overboard and tried to eat the peel. whether or not the story is true, or has been embellished over the years, is irrelevant, it keeps a warm spot in my heart, along with all the memories of my dear family.
today as i was speaking with my sister-in-law, our words gave me a joyful realization. i commented on my mantra, which is "this too shall pass" and how that
it is comforting and disconcerting all at once. if times are bad, then my mantra makes it easier to deal with; but when times are wonderful, i know deep down to appreciate them all the more since nothing lasts forever. my sister-in-law said she thinks that's what makes me a great photographer, my appreciation for the passage of time and my desire to capture the special things forever. i was touched by her insight and kind words. everyone needs to be reminded from time to time, that we are who and what we are, because of what we think and feel.

Who knew a visit to the Alligator Farm in St. Augustine would prove to be such
an exciting bird watching adventure! Sure we saw lots of gators, even at feeding time, ew, but it was the plethora of Florida egrets and flamingos who were perched in tree after tree, feathering their nests, that was the REAL thrill. We'll be sure to update you in a couple of months when these nests give warmth to new chicks. Maybe we'll even see these blue eggs come to life!

michael had an unbelievable week with rolando gomez and the gorgeous models in west palm beach! from hammocks to bathtubs to bountiful botanicals, these natural backdrops made exciting sets. mr. gomez was a gracious and generous teacher, giving michael some excellent inspiration for our next glamour sessions, right here at photographic memories studio!

We are SO excited at the news from Michael's middle son, Lavar, and his wife, Danielle.
They are expecting their first child, due this fall. Its always been hard to live so far away from our loved ones. Michael and I are both from Cleveland, and that is where most of our family still resides. We hope to get up there in Oct. or Nov. to greet the new grandbaby!! We'll post photos as we access them, even though WE aren't the sonogram photographers.
Enjoyed a relaxing night in Daytona Beach with the lovely Palombo sisters, Jessica and Danielle.
Roasted marshmallows at the pool fire pit with cute Shore's S'mores kit the hotel gives its guests;
walked the clean sandy beach to work up an appetite for breakfast; gorged on delicious cuisine at the hotel.
Cool that the hotel made amends for an out of order elevator by sending us a basket of brie, crackers, strawberries, grapes and a bottle of Chardonnay wine. Wow.
Clearly one night is not enough to unwind but I'm grateful for the moments with my wonderful daughters!
